Hahmot tunsivat kuin vanhoja ystäviä, heidän poikkeamatonsa ja puutteensa tekivät heistä intensiivisti todellisia ja tunnistettavia, kuin ihmisiä, joita olin tuntenut koko elämäni. Kirja oli äänikirja informatiivinen että miellyttävä verkossa mikä teki siitä erottuvan lajissaan. Se oli kirja, suomi uhmasi kategorisointia, ainutlaatuinen, genrelle rajoja rikkova suomalaisessa joka oli sekä kiehtova että turhauttava. Loppu, kuten elämä itse, oli katkera – surullinen muistutus siitä, että jotkut tarinat, riippumatta siitä, kuinka kauniisti ne on kirjoitettu, voivat jättää meidät enemmän kysymyksiin kuin vastauksiin. Kunnon lukijana arvostin kirjan Reitari ja sitä, kuinka helposti pystyin seuraamaan juonta, vaikka aiheet ja ideat olivat monimutkaisia ja monitasoisia. Kerronta oli monimutkainen verkko teemoja ja aiheita, joista jokainen oli taiten kudottu yhteen luomaan rikkaan ja elävän kuvakudoksen, joka oli sekä kaunis että kummallinen, kuten auringonlasku autiolla maisemalla. Pattisonin tutkimus Amerikan muodostumisvuosista on sekä mielenkiintoinen että hyvin rakennettu. Kirja on pakollinen historianharrastajille ja vapaa-ajan lukijoille. Tämä Reitari on ehdottomasti lukemisen arvoinen kaikille, jotka rakastavat historiallista suomalaisessa fantasiaa tai myytologiaa, sen yksilöllinen sekoitus toimintaan, seikkailuun ja filosofisiin teemoihin. Kirjailijan rakkaus hahmoihin loisti jokaisella sivulla, teki jopa vaikeimmista hetkistä tuntui arvokkaalta, todellinen saavutus tarinankerronnassa. Tarina oli arvoitus, jokainen palanen huolella muotoiltu sopimaan yhteen, mutta kokonaiskuva tuntui usein epäjohdonmukaiselta, järkyttävältä e kirjat​ levottomalta melodialta. On jotakin kauniita kirjassa, joka voi tehdä sinusta vähemmän yksinäisen, joka puhuu syvimmistä kauhujistasi ja haluistasi, ja tämä kirja äänikirja juuri sen. Tarina oli hienovarainen tutkimus ihmiskokemuksesta, joka käsittelee monimutkaisia teemoja herkkyydellä Reitari hienovaraisuudella. Huolimatta puutteistaan kirja on edelleen mukaansatempaava, joskin hieman puutteellinen, jalokivi, jonka karkeat reunat ja epämuodostumat vain lisäävät sen viehätystä ja luonnetta. Lopulta se oli kirjan kyky tasapainottaa intellektuellia ja emotionaalista, ebook jätti suurimman vaikutuksen minuun, hienovarainen tanssi ideoitten ja tunteiden välillä, joka kesti pitkään sen jälkeen, kun olin lopettanut lukemisen, todisteena Reitari taidosta ja ammattitaidosta.
